NCPWB Technical Committee Meeting Proves Valuable and Informative for Iowa Chapter Secretary
This past April, National Certified Pipe Welding Bureau (NCPWB) Iowa Chapter Secretary Jennifer Adkins represented MCAI and the NCPWB Iowa Chapter at the 74th annual NCPWB Technical Committee Meeting at the Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort in Rancho Mirage, California.
This year’s NCPWB Technical Committee Meeting featured presentations on a wide range of topics including radiographic film interpretation, robotic advancements in welding tube and pipe, and a newly developed training apparatus that addresses the key elements of pipefitting.
The conference also featured an address by MCAA President-Elect Bob Durr, Jr., a longtime member and the Chair of the NCPWB Technical Committee. Durr, Jr. praised the Technical Committee for creating a dialogue between contractors and United Association partners to help prepare for the future of the industry through collaboration and continuing education and training initiatives.
Jennifer found the experience valuable and informative. “It was great networking with peers and seeing how other associations utilize the NCPWB’s services,” she reflected. “The NCPWB announced that an updated website will be launched this fall with changes to administrative functions, making the NCPWB an even greater resource to members.”
