OSHA Confined Space Standard for Construction
MCAA Releases Confined Spaces in Construction Training Materials
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has extended the enforcement date for the confined spaces standard from August 3 to October 2, 2015. MCAA members now have an additional 60 days to establish their confined space programs and train their affected employees in the necessary processes and procedures. MCAA requested the extension so that we could prepare materials for our members to use in training their employees. To help you meet the new compliance requirements, MCAA has developed the following resources which are free as a benefit of MCAA/MSCA membership:
Worker Safety Training Video;
Training Guide that Highlights Key Training Points;
Training Documentation Sheet; and a 20-Question Multiple Choice Test.
MCAI Members: All of your employees have immediate On-Demand access to the video and test within the MCAI Training Vault website. In addition, you can log into the Member's Only Section to view the MCAA Safety Bulletin Highlighting the Key Differences between the OSHA General Industry and OSHA Construction standards, along with a summary of the new standard.
